How long have you been playing your instrument?

My dad bought me my first guitar when I was 15. I had no idea how to even play the thing (even though I wanted to so badly!) and I remember just turning on the amp, and strumming the strings until something came out that didn’t sound like noise. Eventually, around 16 I had my first lesson, and really started playing at 17. So, I’ve been playing almost 9 years. Unfortunately I’m no Yngwie, but I tell ya- I can play the shit out of my axe, and I love it.

What are your favorite bands?

Picking a favorite band is like picking whether sex is more important than whiskey, food and sleep. It’s extremely hard to pick favorites! My biggest influences though, are Alice Cooper, AC/DC (Bon Scott era especially), Motley Crue, WASP, Guns n’ Roses and Megadeth. Each of those bands/musicians has changed my life in one way or another. But truly, I’m a hair metal/glam freak- that time period of music is what got me into playing guitar and fantasizing of being a Rockstar.

Fun facts about you:

I’m really into DIY, crafting and making my own stuff…. Anything from clothing, to infusing alcohol, to buying older/used gear and fixing it up! I’m a psycho for fashion, especially rock fashion, and being able to express my own style is one of the most important parts of my life. I had a spinal fusion when I was 20 years old, and I have several titanium screws and rods in my back. You’d never notice. I’m like the f*cking terminator of guitar, dudes.

Has being a part of Madame Torment changed anything?

Madame Torment has changed my whole world. I had this vision of the band I wanted, and after meeting Elsa, I knew it was going to happen. I don’t know if we’ll become the next big thing, or steadily work our way up the rock n’ roll chain, but it’s obvious that we have something special, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. MT has taught me a lot about my own playing, how hard it is to be in a band (it’s a lot of work!) and that drive/passion is a vital aspect of working with other musicians. You have to want it, and be with people that have that same mindset or you’ll never get anywhere.
